Personalization is the biggest carrot-on-a-stick that the MMO genre can wield, and without it, Neverwinter lacks some of the addictiveness commonly attributed to online gaming. In a way, though, that's playing to the game strengths. Unlike literally every other MMO I've ever played, Neverwinter is fun in small doses and not at all intimidating to return to after a week-long lapse. The hotbar memorization and theorycraft mandated by other games in the genre just doesn't exist here. It's as easy to play as it is to return to.

Lots of games are this way, but Neverwinter is scaled so that if you do every single quest in the game, in the exact order you encounter them, you will hit level 60 at almost the exact time you finish the very last quest in the game (assuming you don’t grind for XP between).  There’s no exploring for the sake of it, there are no side quests.  This linearity exists between and within zones.  Each zone features a quest hub (pretty standard) that will then push you down a narrow path/road/cavern until you hit a larger area.  Once done you will be directed down another path/road/cavern to another larger area.

So did you get all that? I hope I gave a good overview of the many different currency types in the game, what they are for and how to get them. It is way too convoluted in my opinion but that is how Cryptic wants to do it so we as players of Neverwinter have to learn it. I think if you try to tackle one form of currency and then move on most players should be able to sort through what is for which and then manage their characters accordingly. Overall, Astral Diamonds are really the key to the economy.  If you want to focus on one kind of currency in Neverwinter, it should be NW Astral Diamonds.

To transfer Astral Diamonds to your alternate characters you must list them for sale in the Zen Exchange. You can obviously sell them for Zen, but if your intent is to transfer them to one of your alternate characters, you will immediately delist (revoke) your Zen exchange offer. When you do this, there will be an Astral Diamond surcharge cost deducted (the sink), but the remainder will then be deposited into an account wide bank (meaning your Perfect World account). Now you can withdrawal your Astral Diamonds from here while playing any character on your account.

Neverwinter certainly has room to grow, but the amount of game that is available with no barrier of entry  neither fiscal nor educational?? is mind boggling. It misses the mark somewhat on that Dungeons & Dragons feeling of absolute character ownership, but that doesn't make the game any less refreshing to play. With its fast-paced combat and ubiquitously streamlined design, Neverwinter nails the concept of what an action MMO should be.
